Gratuitous Number of Photos at the Marsh

I stopped by the marsh in my town on the way home from work and went a little crazy with the camera. I have tried to include only the very best or most interesting shots. As well, I decided today that all photos uploaded will be untouched – no colour changes, no cropping, no contrast adjusted – just how I took them originally. I made a friend on my walk and she helped me to get my favourite photo (it involves peanuts, you’ll see).

Project 365 – Before The Snow

I am feeling inspired to take photographs. I recently picked up a fancy little camera as a graduation present from my family, which is something I have desired for quite a while. I used to have a useless old hand-me-down film camera but I stopped using it early on in university, and have have been sans camera ever since. I don’t really know what specifications my camera has except for one feature: ten times optical zoom! I find this very impressive.

Something called Project 365 caught my eye when an old friend began it nearly a year ago, and I am going to be a copycat and try it out for myself. The premise is that you must take photographs every single day, and I guess post them somewhere as a blog or memoir or something of the sort. I am not looking to necessarily chronicle my life, but to improve my skills as a photographer, which at this point, are very amateur.

Today I am going to cheat and use some photos taken earlier, only because there is a specific idea I want to capture. In my town today fell the first snowflakes of this winter season, and I am overjoyed. I am hoping to leave the country in early December, and I was getting a little worred that I would miss this year’s Canadian snowfall. While none of it stayed on the ground, it gave me some hope that it might in a month. I love winter.

Anyway, here are my favourite fall pictures taken since September 29, the day I acquired the camera, and before the snow. (Please enlarge to experience full awesomeness.)
